CPD 1214 Powered | C 1214 Unpowered Top Boxes
The CPD 1214 completes the KS Audio CPD series self-powered systems with an excellent horn-loaded loudspeaker. Due to this horn-loaded coaxial arrangement of the low-mid chassis and mid-high driver, the directivity is well balanced for long throw applications.
The DSP controller works with KS Audio Firtec DSP technology for true impulse-correct reproduction of audio and increased resistance to feedback, resulting in powerful sound pressure levels matched with superior audibility and dynamics. Two integrated amplifiers supply 500W for the 12” woofer and 100W for the 1.4” tweeter, with a peak performance of 1,200W.
The electronics are comprised of a switch mode power supply with Power-Factor-Correction, a “cold” PWM amplifier for bass / midrange performance, and an analog FET amplifier with top-of-the-line audio characteristics for the mid-high compression driver. Both the 12” woofer and the 1.4” compression driver have strong--but light--neodymium magnets. The 3” membrane of the compression driver consists of a special aluminum alloy that has a clearly reduced distortion factor in comparison to a titanium membrane.
With the CPD 1214, KS Audio answers the demanding needs of professional audio engineers and live venues, and the system can be further enhanced with a KS subwoofer (we recommend the CPD WL).
The CPD 1214 is equally suited for standard stacking, as well as flying assemblies with the integrated RIG C flying system. The speaker cabinet construction is built from birch plywood with an extremely robust charcoal colored polyurethane coating. At your request the finish available can be changed to any desired color from the RAL color charts. Four sturdy wheels, handles, and a protective steel grill (with or without acoustic foam) are further features of this high-quality product.
The rear mounted 2-way Firtec DSP amplifier operates very efficiently without the need of a cooling fan. The FIR crossover and filter are specially matched to the drivers, with corresponding compressors and limiters to ensure safe operation. The electronically balanced input is in the form of XLR connectors. The panel also has a digital volume control to individually adjust for each venue and a digital delay up to 140ms or 40m (120ft), for time alignment and decentralized PA systems.
Furthermore, adjustments can also be made over ethernet via the KS Audio Remote 3 software. All adjustments are shown on a brightly lit display, in an easy-to-read format.
The CPD 1214 operates on all AC 110-240V electrical supplies. The starting current is electronically limited. There are two PowerCON F+M connectors that allow you to link additional KS Audio CPD products, such as a CPD SUB or the CPD WL subwoofer.
C1214: Same as CPD 1214 but unpowered.
